LIGHTWATERLIFE GLOBAL RELIEF NAMES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. IVAN KLASSEN TAKES THE HELM OF THE GROWING NONPROFIT.
WACO, TX. (Jan. 10, 2022) LightWaterLife Global Relief announced Ivan Klassen has been named executive director of the nonprofit devoted to the distribution of sustainable humanitarian aid kits to vulnerable and at-risk people in crisis-prone regions within the United States and around the world.
As Executive Director of LightWaterLife Global Relief, Klassen will provide innovative leadership for the strategic implementation of LightWaterLife Global Relief’s mission and goals. Klassen will be collaborating with people the organization serves, the Board of Directors, and all employees, volunteers, and partners. The executive director is responsible for all programs, services, and personnel.
“LightWaterLife Global Relief sees an opportunity to make a transformational shift on how humanitarian aid is delivered to those in need and is thrilled to have Ivan lead us in this exciting stage of growth,” founding board member David Urabe said. “We’re really excited about this next step for the organization and can’t wait to see where we go from here.”
Klassen’s hiring comes as the young non-profit implements a strategic plan to expand the organization’s programs, increase development and outreach, and improve operational effectiveness.

Ivan Klassen comes to LightWaterLife Global Relief after serving at the Los Angeles Mission in a series of key leadership roles including executive director of the Los Angeles Mission Foundation, director of community partnerships, and special assistant to the mission’s president since 2007. During his 14-year tenure, Klassen oversaw relationship building, public relations, and major donor development, along with special event planning for the Skid Row Mission. Klassen, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, previously worked as Director of Youth Ministries at two southern California Presbyterian Churches and received a Master of Divinity degree from Azusa Pacific University’s Haggard School of Theology.
